Resident Medical Officer (Registrar – Critical Care)


Registrar – Critical Care | Timaru Hospital

We are seeking a motivated and capable Registrars to join our supportive Critical Care team at Timaru Hospital, located in the heart of South Canterbury.

About the Role

As a Registrar, you will work closely with experienced consultants and be exposed to a wide range of acute and critical care presentations.

This role offers:

  • Direct mentorship from senior clinicians
  • Increased autonomy with appropriate support
  • Exposure to diverse and complex clinical cases
  • Dedicated exposure to Anaesthetics, working alongside Anaesthetists in theatre
  • Opportunities to actively participate in clinical decision-making and service delivery

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality clinical care within Critical Care services
  • Work collaboratively with Consultants and multidisciplinary teams
  • Participate in theatre sessions alongside Anaesthetists
  • Contribute to weekly teaching and ongoing education sessions
  • Engage in clinical meetings, case discussions, and quality improvement activities
