Registered Nurse - Medical Investigation Unit

About the Role

Right now, we’re looking for a Registered Nurse with a good amount experience behind them to become part of the Medical Investigations Unit based at Timaru Hospital. 

The unit provides services for patients who require medical investigations for a range of reasons including:

  • Performing 12 lead ECGS
  • Patient preparation – exercise tolerance testing
  • Patient and ECG monitoring during ETT
  • Recognising abnormal ECG and BP findings during ETT
  • Administering ACLS when required in a critical setting
  • Fitting of holter monitors
  • Performing basic spirometry

Reporting to the Charge of Medical Investigations this role supports colleagues with these day-to-day procedures ensuring patient safety and support.

About you

Motivated, with a mature attitude and organised approach, you will be flexible and adaptable in this ever changing, fast paced environment.  The ability to work autonomously and effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team, will be key to your success in this role.

It  is envisaged you will be an experienced Registered Nurse who is IT savvy and can work with a wide range of people professionally and with patients and families. Additionally, you will have a wide range of experience behind you.  Other requirements include;

  • NZ Nursing Council Registration and current APC
  • Post graduate nursing experience
  • The right to work in New Zealand

Salary Range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the relevant Nursing Collective, and the Pay Scale, determined on relevant experience.
