Healthcare Assistant, Transit Lounge -Timaru Hospital 

• Fixed Term, From 1 May to 30 September 2026
• Up to 1.8 FTE Available – please advise your preference in your cover letter
• Hours: 12 Hour duties between 0900 – 2130 hours, Monday to Sunday

About the Role

This role based in the Transit Lounge of Timaru Hospital is being stood up for the winter period and will assist with the safe organisational flow of patients from the Emergency Department and progress timely discharges from the inpatient Wards. The heath care assistant(s) will work under the direction and delegation of  the Registered Nurses and support timely ongoing patient care.

About You

This fixed term role is suited to an experience Health Care Assistant(s) and someone that can hit the ground running.  You will need to have;

• Previous Health Care Assistant experience
• Be able to work collaboratively with health professionals
• Be eligible to work in New Zealand
• Able to start on 1 May 2026

Salary Range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the Nursing Collective, and the Pay Scale, determined on relevant experience.
