Specialist Physician - Healthy Aging and Rehabilitation
The South Canterbury District Health Board is looking to recruit a progressive Geriatrician to work in the Assessment Treatment and Rehabilitation Ward alongside one other experienced Geriatrician.
You will share in the clinical coverage of a 20 bed sub-acute care unit and actively participate in community and clinic visits.
You will be working with a well-coordinated interdisciplinary team that include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work and nursing, where all professional input into patient care is considered to be of equal value.
Based in the family friendly environment of Timaru, (in the centre of New Zealand’s picturesque South Island), you will enjoy the genuine ease of access to a host of outdoor activities, e.g. five ski fields, several lakes and mountains all within one to two hours drive, together with many outstanding local sporting facilities (some of international standard, like SCF Tennis Centre, Aorangi Park Sport Stadium, Timaru Motor Raceway, and CBay Aquatic Centre).
There is truly something here for most to pursue or develop keen/healthy interests outside of work. Traffic jams are unheard of, local state and integrated schools offer quality education and housing is still affordable by NZ standards.
Live the dream of an achievable work/life balance where you will genuinely enjoy a friendly professional work environment!
If you have any questions regarding this role please contact our Human Resource Team by phoning 03 687-2230.
Please be aware, if you are an overseas candidate that as of November 2017 The Medical Council of New Zealand (the Council) introduced a new method of primary source verification using the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates’ Electronic Portfolio of International Credentials (ECFMG’s EPIC) service. Being certified through EPIC is now compulsory and we therefore recommend that applicants have registered their professional credentials with EPIC.
Please visit the NZMC website for more details about these changes and the other requirements needed to be met toward gaining NZ Registration.
