Right now, we’re looking for an enthusiastic
Registered Nurse to join South Canterbury Eye clinic with a good amount
experience behind them to become part of the team here in Timaru.
The position entails assessment,
implementation and evaluation of the patient’s care with the Ophthalmology team
incorporating the whole of the patient’s pathway while ensuring dignity and
individual needs are met of the patient. It is essential that the successful applicant participate in the auditing and practice within the Clinic.
Diagnostic testing including Patient
assessment and history taking, visual acuity testing, IOP and Biometry
measurement, Visual Field testing, Glaucoma screening, Diabetic screening, IV
cannulation for FFA, assisting with minor surgery, replenishing and ordering of
medical supplies, Cataract assessment and Maintenance and sterilization of
surgical instruments and vital roles in this position. The successful Applicant
needs to be computer literate.
Motivated, with a mature attitude and
organised approach, you will be flexible and adaptable in this ever changing,
fast paced environment. The ability to work autonomously and effectively
as part of the multidisciplinary team, will be key to your success in this role.
Specific Requirements include:
- NZ Nursing Council Registration and current APC
- As the job is patient-facing it is crucial you are fully immunised.
Orthoptist Council Registration and current APC if applicable
