About the Role

Right now, we’re looking for Registered Nurses with experience behind them to become part of Operating Theatre team at Timaru Hospital. The hospital provides secondary services to the district population of approximately 50,000 people, has 130 beds, and is undergoing a significant refurbishment programme.  The service provides critical 24/7 services including, ED, ICU/CCU, General, Orthopaedic, & ENT Surgery, O&G, Psychiatry, Health of Older People, Oncology & Palliative Care, Internal Medicine, Paediatrics and Dental.

About You

Along with NZ registration and a current APC will you also have;

  • Previous Operating Theatre experience, ideally a minimum of three years
  • The ability to work under pressure using effective planning and prioritisation skills
  • Knowledge and or experience of the Treaty of Waitangi Principles
  • Be an effective communicator with colleagues, patients and their whanau/families
  • Maintain a personal professional portfolio to meet the Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP) requirements of Heath New Zealand South Canterbury

Salary 

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the Nursing Collective, and the Pay Scale, determined on relevant experience.
