• Based on the Timaru Hospital Campus | Permanent 0.5 FTE | Monday to Friday Hours

About the Role

As our Learning Hub Advisor (Mental Health & Addictions), you will play a key role in growing capability and supporting excellence across South Canterbury's Mental Health and Addiction services.

This varied role combines education, leadership, workforce development, coaching and quality improvement, offering the opportunity to influence practice at both an individual and service-wide level. In addition to supporting Mental Health and Addiction Services, you will have the opportunity to deliver education and training across the wider Health and Support Services workforce, helping build capability and enhance patient care across multiple clinical specialties.

About you

You are a passionate Mental Health professional who thrives on helping others learn, grow and succeed. You bring credibility through your clinical experience, along with the ability to engage and inspire people at all levels of the organisation. Whether facilitating training, mentoring staff, supporting professional development pathways or leading practice improvements, you are collaborative, adaptable and motivated by making a real difference.

• Registered Nurse with a current NZ Annual Practising Certificate (APC) and strong clinical experience in Mental Health and Addictions.
• Proven education, teaching, mentoring or coaching skills, with the ability to design and deliver engaging learning programmes for adult learners.
• Sound knowledge of Mental Health and Addiction services, legislation and the Mental Health Act, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
• Demonstrated leadership and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence, motivate and develop staff across multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development, including postgraduate study or a willingness to work towards relevant qualifications.

Salary Range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the relevant Nursing collective professional salary band and the Pay Scale, determined on relevant experience.
