Registered Nurse - Emergency Department – Timaru Hospital (Advertised internally)

About the Role

Right now, there is a permanent opportunity for an experienced Emergency Registered Nurse to join the Timaru hospital team.  You’ll enjoy the flexibility of a truly varied role, where there is never a dull moment or a day that looks like another!

About You

Registered Nurse holding a current New Zealand Nursing Council (NZNC) approved practicing certificate and will:

• have appropriate clinical experience (specific to the level of registered nurse competency required)
• the ability to work unsupervised and to utilise initiative appropriately
• a supportive team approach
• the willingness to meet the required training and documentation standards within the Emergency Department
• demonstrate effective planning and prioritisation skills
• have the ability to work under pressure
• use appropriate communication when interacting with colleagues, patients/clients/residents and their families/whanau
• maintain a personal professional portfolio to meet the Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP) requirements of Te Whatu Ora
• past emergency nursing experience or is triage trained
