Registered Nurse - District Nursing

About the Role

You don't get any more front line than caring for people in their own home environment where the clinical care that you provide as a health professional is going to make a real difference to an individual’s health status.

The role involves working across South Canterbury, working rostered shifts, to meet needs of the service and clients and may include occasional weekends.

You would be working closely with a multiciliary team including, Allied Health, Needs Assessment, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Palliative Care Nurses and Primary Care providers within the area and will be an integral part of the Heath New Zealand District Nursing team as a whole. 

About you

Ideally you will have community experience and a passion for providing care that supports people in their own home.  You will demonstrate effective planning and prioritisation skills and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients/clients, and their families/whanau.

• A current New Zealand Practicing Certificate
• Full and clean drivers licence and be able to drive safely
• Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
• Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.

Salary Range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the Nursing Collective and the salary will be in accordance with the Pay Scale, and dependent on relevant experience.
