Right now, we’re looking for a Registered Nurse with experience behind them to become part of the team here in Timaru. Our A,T&R service is a close knit nursing, allied health and medical team focused on improving and optimising health and independence.

With us you will enjoy working in a supportive, multidisciplinary team actively involved in and challenged by the wide variety of clinical presentations our acute Age Care service faces, while benefiting from the learning opportunities that rehabilitation nursing offers.

In this role you will have the ability to initiate and accept clinical responsibility and work autonomously when appropriate or necessary.  Amongst your strengths will be the ability to function well in a multi-disciplinary team while having the confidence to be a strong advocate for either stable or acutely unwell patients under your care.

You will be registered with the New Zealand Nursing Council and have solid acute nursing experience, preferably in the specialised area of age care.

Why choose South Canterbury DHB?

As one of the country’s smaller DHBs our people always have room to move and grow - you’ll get a wider exposure to specialties and enjoy the benefits of a flat structure: processes that run smoothly and a fun, friendly culture. With us, you’re more than just a number; you’re part of a team where everyone knows your name. You’ll be supported to thrive through our many professional development opportunities and have the chance to share your expertise as part of our graduate mentoring programme.

On top of all that, you’ll get to enjoy the fantastic Timaru lifestyle: between the beach and the mountains, work-life balance is truly achievable here.

At SCDHB, integrity, collaboration, accountability, respect and excellence are at the heart of everything we do. We are a proudly diverse team, as we know a diverse and inclusive workforce achieves the best outcomes for our patients and communities.
