Needs Assessment Coordinator (NASC) - Registered Nurse 

  • Part Time - 0.9 FTE
  • Fixed Term due to Parental Leave (to ~March 2027)
  • Hospital Specialty Services, based at Talbot Community Health Hub (Timaru)

Right now, we’re looking for a Registered Nurse to join the Community Services Team and make a real difference in outcomes for individuals who are in genuine need of support

Day to day this role is focused on undertaking comprehensive client assessments, and assists the clients to set goals and identify comprehensive planning that will meet their needs.  Subsequent monitoring and evaluation of health status is also required.

All assessments use the appropriate assessment tools for the service and for the most part the role works autonomously and in rotational roles alongside other members of the NASC team, this includes triage, hospital liaison and out in the community.

Registered Nurses will benefit being under the Multi-employment Collective Agreement (MECA) and have the opportunity to progress through Professional Development Recognition Programmes (PDRP).

Successful candidates will have;

  • Understanding of the Health of the older person Strategy and other relevant national policy documents and legislation
  • Commitment to enhancing the quality of life and supporting independent community living and ability to manage client and family expectations.
  • Able to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • At least 5 years of nursing experience
  • New Zealand Driver License that is current

Salary Range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the relevant Nursing Collective, and the Pay Scale, determined on relevant experience.
