About the Role

This role leads the South Canterbury MH&A team and is responsible for building high performing service delivery systems that deliver on the expectations of Te Whatu Ora, the New Zealand Health Plan (Te Pae Tata) and the Pae Ora legislation. Enabling the delivery of Hospital and Specialist Services, local, regional and national MH&A health targets the role priorities by working with clinical leadership to support change programmes and manage resource allocation in their area.

About You

This role will suit someone with extensive experience in varied environments ​ and relevant service delivery experience at a senior level, preferably with Mental Health and Addiction. Proven experience successfully leading diverse teams through change and achieving results is required along with the ability to role model work-place culture that reflects the New Zealand Health Charter - Te Mauri o Rongo, giving life to the values, expectations and behaviours it outlines.

At the forefront of this role is a person who will ensure that the experience of patients and their whānau drives how services are delivered and is the focus of service delivery improvement. Banded at SP21 

Other Requirements Include:

  • Registration as a health care professional and relevant APC, is favourable
  • Works and acts strategically and can monitor and manage operational performance, is a natural is a problem solver and leader
  • Demonstrates mature communication and interpersonal skills and provides concise direction to teams. 
  • Experience working with key stakeholders, patients and their whānau
  • Financially savvy and experienced managing budgets
  • Working towards or has a post graduate diploma and/or bachelor's degree​ or greater

Salary Scale

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of an individual Employment Agreement Collective, and the salary will be in accordance with relevant experience.
