About the Role
The AT&R is based in a new purpose-built facility, and right now, we’re looking for a Health Care Assistant with experience behind them to become part of the Assessment, Treatment & Rehabilitation (AT&R) ward at Timaru Hospital.
As a Health Care Assistant in our busy AT&R Ward,
you will assist with providing care and support to patients under the direction
and supervision of registered nurses, (in addition to other necessary
‘housekeeping’ tasks on the ward).
Ideally you will have directly relevant work experience, or have worked for a recognised healthcare provider and therefore you are able to bring this experience to the role. Other success factors for this role includes;
- Assisting people who have major health care needs
- Utilising well-developed communication skills to enhance the patients experience while they are under our care
- Keen willingness to work in support of the wider team needs, while seeking assistance when necessary
- Taking the initiative: sees something requiring attention and simply does it
- Displays sound sensitivity (both cultural & empathy) toward others
- Unfailingly maintains confidentiality in all respects
