Life is a collection of small moments: meaningful moments, challenging moments, moments to remember. At SCDHB, we want to support our people to enjoy more of the moments that matter. Are you ready to join us?
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires an adaptable person with outstanding organisational skills. Working closely with patients, whanau, consultants and external healthcare providers, the successful applicant will also require superior communication skills.
Enjoy your nursing and have your nights, weekends and public holidays free. You will only be working during office hours on weekdays, helping to assist the Cardiovascular and Respiratory service. There will be a focus on sleep studies within this role to assist our patient groups across this specialty. A part of this will be liaising with tertiary health centres regarding the sleep studies and working with multiple IT systems to work through the sleep studies’ data. These will be in addition to providing care and support to this chronic condition patient group.
If you like nursing but don’t like shift work or working on weekends, you can have your cake and eat it too.
To be eligible for this role you will also need:
- To be registered with the New Zealand Nursing Council and have a current Annual Practising Certificate
- A full New Zealand driver’s license
- Good IT skills, and the ability to learn new IT systems
- Good communication and organisation skills
- Good attention to detail and work ethic
As one of the country’s smaller DHBs our people always have room to move and grow - you’ll get a wider exposure to specialties and enjoy the benefits of a flat structure: processes that run smoothly and a fun, friendly culture. With us, you’re more than just a number; you’re part of a team where everyone knows your name. You’ll be supported to thrive through our many professional development opportunities and have the chance to share your expertise as part of our graduate mentoring programme.
On top of all that, you’ll get to enjoy the fantastic Timaru lifestyle: between the beach and the mountains, that long-coveted work-life balance is truly achievable here.
At SCDHB, integrity, collaboration, accountability, respect and excellence are at the heart of everything we do. We are a proudly diverse team, as we know a diverse and inclusive workforce achieves the best outcomes for our patients and communities. If you share in these core values and bring them into every aspect of your patient care, we can’t wait for you to join us.
