We are seeking two talented and driven Registrars to join our dedicated Emergency Department team in the heart of South Canterbury. About the Role

As an Emergency Medicine Registrar at Timaru Hospital, you will work closely with experienced senior consultants across a broad range of acute presentations and clinical scenarios. This role offers a high level of clinical responsibility, direct mentorship, and excellent teaching opportunities within a supportive provincial hospital setting.

 

You will gain valuable experience managing undifferentiated patients, trauma, acute medical presentations, and procedural work, while developing confidence and autonomy in your clinical practice.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing high-quality clinical care within the Emergency Department
  • Working collaboratively with Consultants, RMOs, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Taking on increasing levels of clinical responsibility appropriate to experience
  • Participating in weekly teaching sessions and ongoing education
  • Engaging in regular clinical meetings, case discussions, and service improvement activities
  • Contributing positively to a supportive team culture focused on excellent patient care
