Life is a collection of small moments: meaningful moments, challenging moments, moments to remember. At SCDHB, we want to support our people to enjoy more of the moments that matter. Are you ready to join us?

Right now, we’re looking for a Registered or Enrolled Nurse with lots of flexibility to become part of the team here in Timaru. You will be a permanent reliver, helping out in any ward in the hospital as per the needs of the service. You’ll enjoy the flexibility of a truly varied role – one moment you could be working with a gynecology patient; the next, you’re in orthopedics – never a dull moment or a day that looks like another!

You will have consolidated general nursing skills as you can be rostered on to any and all wards. This includes, but is not limited to, Medical, Surgical, Operating Theatre, Paediatrics, ICU, AT&R, Emergency, and Mental Health. The ward/department will support your clinical function from within the established team. This will be a fantastic opportunity to broaden your nursing experience.

You must have the following:

·  Nursing Council of NZ registration, and current APC.

·  Be eligible to work in New Zealand

·  Be able to work collaboratively with health professionals and as an autonomous practitioner.

·  Be able to integrate into different established teams in order to provide effective patient care.

·  Be able to apply a flexible approach to areas of work.

·  Excellent clinical assessment skills

For the ward related roles, you will be required to work rostered duties, morning, afternoon and night shifts.

Rostering as part of the ‘On Call Team’ may be required for experienced theatre nurses.
