Clinical Psychologist - Children and Adults
Fixed Term, until end August 2020, Maternity Cover
Part-time, 64 Hours per fortnight, Mon to Thur
Every moment matters is not only our vision, it is our commitment to enhance the health and independence of the people of South Canterbury. We do things differently at the SCDHB, we believe extraordinary leadership can emerge from anywhere in our workforce, and the best ideas tend to come from staff closest to our patients and our patients themselves.
Are you looking for a change in work commitment to that of a part time Monday to Thursday role, working 32 hours per week? If so we have a role arising in our mental health centre at Kensington.
As well as being a fully registered Clinical Psychologist, we need someone with proven skills in:
- Comprehensive Psychological Assessment for Children, Adolescents and Adults
- Risk Management and Future planning
- Intervention (such as Talking Therapy modalities)
- Exceptional Documentation/Communication abilities
Also, a sound knowledge and understanding of the ‘Strengths Model’ as a framework of care will be a significant advantage to any applicant. But a committed belief in the recovery competencies and active, collaborative participation is essential.
You would be joining a small team keeping up with the national and international trends to work with young people 0-18 years of age who have a diagnosis or suspected diagnosis of a moderate to severe psychiatric disorder. Pay and terms would be as per applicable MECA and experience.
Developmental Psychologists and/or Child and Family Psychologists are welcome to apply.
