Are you looking for a new challenge? Have you got a strong vision and drive for the future of midwifery? Are you solution focused? We are looking for a dynamic person to lead our maternity unit in to the future.
Welcome to Timaru Hospital’s Jean Todd Maternity Unit. We provide primary and secondary care to women in South Canterbury. This is hands-on midwifery work; we see around 600 births a year, ranging from normal and low-risk to complex and high-needs.
You will lead our team of core midwives, breastfeeding advisors, nurses and healthcare assistants in the daily running of our maternity ward. You will also have a close working relationship with the local midwives in the South Canterbury region.
As the clinical leader, staff will look to you for guidance on clinical matters. As the manager, you will handle the decision making and higher functioning administrative tasks. You will also work on the floor when the need arises.
Welcome to a better career. In this smaller unit, you are not just a healthcare professional, you are a support person, and an advocate for the women and babies in your care. This is a role for someone with high professional standards, who wants to run a service we can be proud of.
You’ll be well-supported by the multi-disciplinary team, that works closely to make sure our consumers get the best outcomes, and that our work environment is the best it can be.
Welcome to the Timaru District. If it’s a lifestyle change you’re looking for, this is where you’ll find it. As well as very little traffic there is a friendly, relaxed community to be found. Not to mention easy access to outdoor and cultural activities all year round. You’ll find plenty to refresh you outside work – and have more time to do it too.
Welcome to our community. This isn’t a place where you wave goodbye at the door – this is a small, close knit place, and you’ll watch babies grow as you go about your daily life.
Registered
