About the Role
We're
seeking a NZ Registered Midwife or, Registered Nurse with a current APC who is
passionate about providing safe, woman-centred care. You'll be a collaborative
team player with excellent communication skills, a commitment to evidence-based
practice, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary
environment. A strong focus on quality improvement, cultural safety, and
professional development is essential, along with a commitment to Te Tiriti o
Waitangi and equitable health outcomes.
About the Team
Our core maternity team consists of both midwives and nurses and we work collaboratively within our secondary facility, managing approximately 550 births per year. We have a lovely upgraded unit that comprises 9 single AN/PN rooms, 3 birthing rooms, and outpatient Day Assessment Unit.
About you
Ideally, we are looking for registered midwives however, you may be a registered nurse who has experience working with midwifery.
- Registered Midwife or nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) and eligibility to practise within the New Zealand Midwifery Council Scope of Practice.
- Commitment to providing safe, evidence-based, woman-centred maternity care in partnership with women, whānau, and Lead Maternity Carers (LMCs).
- Ability to deliver high-quality care across the maternity continuum while responding effectively to changing clinical needs and priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proven ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation and meet professional and medico-legal standards.
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement and delivering excellent patient outcomes.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and culturally safe care.
- Knowledge of relevant New Zealand health legislation, professional
standards, and health and safety requirements.
